With full support of co-organizers Sino Group, Sun Hung Kai Properties and venue sponsor Central Plaza, the kick-off ceremony of Hong Chi Climbathon 2022/23 was held yesterday (9 November) at the Duke of Windsor Social Service Building, Wan Chai. This once-a-year charity sports event will be hosted online again this year. Participants of all ages and all abilities are welcome to join this charity race on an individual basis, or by forming corporate, organization or school teams to run for a good cause as well as raising funds in support of the Association’s work to serve people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
Hong Chi Caring Ambassador – world champion rock climber Ms Lisa Cheng joined hands with Ms Joy Chow, Leasing Manager of Central Plaza Management Co. Ltd., Ms Michelle Lam, Communications and Fund Raising Committee Chairman of Hong Chi Association, and Ms Zuie Lin, General Secretary of Hong Chi Association, to kick start the event and to appeal public support for this meaningful cause.
The Hong Chi Climbathon 2022/23 is divided into 2 categories including the Individual Category and Team Category. Individuals can join the Fun Run (target: 644 steps of stair climbing or 15,000 steps of running) or the Challenge Run (target: 1,688 steps of stair climbing or 40,000 steps of running); while participating team consists of 2 to 4 members to join the Fun Run (target: 2,576 steps of climbing or 60,000 steps of running) or Challenge Run (target: 6,750 steps of stair climbing or 160,000 steps of running). In additional, individuals and teams are also welcome to take part in the brand-new “Step Up Challenge”. The top 3 individuals and teams with the highest step count in 1 minute will receive an award. Participants will receive a finisher medal, an e-certificate and a finisher package as a token of appreciation.
Besides paying tribute to top fund raisers, the event also presents different awards to recognize participants with the highest step count and creative costume.
